So I recently picked up You Can Draw in 30 Days: The Fun, Easy Way to Learn to Draw in One Month or Less and started going through it. Day two and it’s going well. I decided to post the progress I make on it.

## Lesson 0: See where you’re starting from

The first thing you’re supposed to draw is a house, a plane, and a bagel (a bagel??). My bagel looks like a frosted donut. Well, at least any progress I make will be an improvement!

## Lessons 1 & 2: Spheres!

Okay, so the author teaches you more than just drawing spheres but the exercise is to draw a single sphere, apply shading, then smooth it out a bit. That + theory is lesson 1. As a bonus, you’re encouraged to draw something less spherical, like an apple. Two attempts in and the second one (the bigger one) is clearly better.

Lesson 2 contains a little more theory and overlapping spheres to create dimension. Suddenly, 3D! That was pretty straight forward and sets you up well for Lesson 3, Advanced Spheres. Okay, sure, that * sounds* lame but I finished up with something I’m pretty proud of, which I’ll post about tomorrow. For now, here’s a picture of what I did for lessons 1 & 2.
